What’s the concept?

Tapout Fitness is Martial Arts Infused Fitness for all ages and fitness levels.

The clubs feature 3 distinct signature Tapout Fitness classes;

Tapout Fusion gives members ultimate flexibility with progressive 20-40-60- minute class segments. This revolutionary high intensity interval training (HIIT) class combines the fun and excitement of strike training with muscle-sculpting strength and conditioning routines. Classes begin every 20 minutes, essentially allowing you to design your own workout schedule.

Tapout Martial Arts, a progressive belt-ranking program for kids and adults, is a modern approach to traditional martial arts.

And finally, for those who want to work out on their own, experience the proprietary Tapout 20, a drop-in-anytime, 20-minute, circuit-based HIIT training course. Some locations may opt to offer a full range of cardio and strength equipment and open 24 hours a day, so members will never miss a workout.

What Makes Tapout Fitness Different?

Tapout Fitness combines the martial arts philosophy of discipline, determination and respect, with the energy of cardio, weight and HIIT training. This fusion fully integrates the mind and body, delivering a transformative fitness experience.  The diversity of classes (as well as the ability to self train) means less boredom which translates to much higher sticky factor as well as higher rates they can charge.

Some Deets:

Tapout Fitness has rabid fans – including a lot of celebrities who are seen often in their clothing line (another revenue source!) which definitely has a “cool” factor.  Tapout is a joint venture between Authentic Brands (a multi million dollar marketing and branding firm behind many iconic brands such as Juicy Couture) and WWE.  This multi BILLION dollar backing means the support and marketing dollars behind the brand are unsurpassed.  John Cena is their “brand ambassador”!

The studio express size fitness clubs (their smaller model) are designed to be approximately 3,500 – 4,000 +- sq. ft. with a total startup cost, including the franchise fees of under $150,000 and they have up to 80% financing programs in place. A fitness studio can often charge higher average “per month” membership fees by offering more personalized and small group classes which enhance revenue. The “mid-size” gyms will typically range from $200,000 to $350,000 in total startup costs.

Capital Requirements:

To qualify, (depending on the size of the club) a franchisee needs a minimum of:

  • $100,000 liquid capital – $200,000 net worth (Studio Express Club – 3.5K – 4.5K sq. ft.)
  • $200,000 liquid capital – $300,000 net worth (5K – 7K sq. Ft Fitness Center)

Diverse programs and multiple revenue opportunities such as:

  • Martial arts
  • Cardio boxing / kickboxing
  • Strength training
  • Cardio equipment
  • Weight equipment
  • Group classes
  • Personal training
  • Merchandising
  • Supplements
  • and more…

Who they want:

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated entrepreneur who is a team player who learns well and is proficient in marketing and networking. They should have a pioneer spirit as this is an emerging brand that allows you to get in on the ground floor of a growing and global brand. The owner is someone who puts people first, and is constantly focused on the member experience.

For the owner operator, daily “management” is the primary focus. Owner operators normally will choose to work within their facility and typical work less than 40 hours per week. Multiple unit owners will spend their full-time efforts “managing” the managers.
